Description

Experience the ultimate cookie-ception with these massive, bakery-style treats that hide a whole Double Stuf Oreo inside a thick chocolate chip shell. These 6-ounce monsters deliver a perfect contrast of soft buttery dough and crunchy cocoa cream for an audacious dessert experience.

Ingredients

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) softened butter
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 10 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 package Double Stuf Oreos

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and line your cookie sheets with parchment paper for a clean release.
  2. In a stand mixer, cream together the softened butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the pure vanilla until the batter is silky and smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda, then slowly add to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Fold in the entire bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips until the heavy dough is evenly loaded.
  6. Place one scoop of dough on top of an Oreo and a second scoop on the bottom, then use your hands to press and seal the edges until the Oreo is completely hidden.
  7. Place the giant dough balls on the prepared sheets with plenty of space to spread and bake for 9 to 13 minutes.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool on the pan for 5 minutes to set before moving them to a cooling rack.

Notes

To ensure your monster cookies maintain their impressive height, try chilling the dough for 15 minutes before stuffing if your kitchen is particularly warm. Always perform a quick seal check to make sure no part of the Oreo is exposed, which prevents the filling from leaking and keeps the center perfectly soft.
